Leetle Artistes

Sweet Pea received a Spirograph for her birthday and thinks it's tons o' fun.

Spirocat. Of course!

Sweet Pea's drawings have so much personality these days. She's always trying different shaped cat bodies, different shaped feet and legs, etc. etc. While drawing this one, she giggled harder and harder the more fur she drew on the cat. Hee hee! Sweet Pea can also draws anything she sees now, amazingly well. She can look at anything and do a drawing that looks just like it. It's really cool. I'm so impressed with her artistic talent.

And speaking of impressed, just a couple weeks ago The Bug's drawings, which a very long time ago turned from big scrawls to small, careful circles, suddenly turned into creatures! (As always, click on the picture if you want to see it larger.) She always narrates while drawing (she can barely help that, really, since she never shuts up from the moment she wakes up in the morning until the second she falls asleep at night; the girl has NO internal dialogue), so sometimes she says she's drawing people (most often herself or Mommy or Daddy, sometimes Sweet Pea) and sometimes she says "It's a kitty cat!" Most of them look to me very much like Sweet Pea's early cat drawings. I've been trying to remember when Sweet Pea started drawing because it seems like The Bug may be starting a few months earlier, but I just can't remember for sure.

I can't wait until my kids' drawings turn into creatures and the like. Thanks for sharing!

Gotta say, I was impressed with Sweet Pea's drawings when I was there. She's got a great eye for drawing.

The Bug seems to be following her, too. Do you have artists in the family?

Cordy can only draw a vague face-looking thing right now - nothing else.
